Hoofddorp, The Netherlands, 4 June 2019 - The multiple learning benefits arising from viewing a big screen are set to be a reality for even more education institutions and students, thanks to the introduction of two new Ultra Short Throw (UST) projectors from Vivitek. The D770 series projectors offer a 100 inch diagonal projection image combined with 3500 lumen brightness and WXGA resolution.
Benefitting from Vivitek’s Ultra Short Throw technology, the D770 series brings a multitude of benefits to users. One of those benefits is that the D700 series’ ultra short throw lens can create a stunningly large 100 inch diagonal, 2.15 metre wide projection image from as little as 44cm away from the screen surface. This means that the screen is large enough even for pupils at the back of the classroom to enjoy.
Teachers and lecturers will benefit from increased eye comfort, because when they’re standing in front of the projected image, there’s no eye glare for them to endure, nor any shadow obstruction. Furthermore, students will benefit greater comfort, as the projected image is based on light reflected from the projection surface which is easier for the eye to watch, particularly over a long period of time, compared to a direct light flat panel device.
The DW771USTi in particular, makes interactivity even easier, making it a robust alternative to flat panels when a 100 inch size screen is required. It supports multi-users with dual pen functionality and an optional Finger Touch Unit with 10 points. It is HID driver-free and, for further convenience, the interactive pen can be used like a computer mouse without the complications of installing a driver.
As well as delivering an optimal viewing experience, the D770 series projectors ensure that the sound quality is crisp and clear too, thanks to powerful, in-built 2x10W speakers which, combined with microphone input, ensures teachers and lecturers can be heard clearly. For added user convenience, the D770 series features integrated network monitoring and management solutions, including those from Crestron® RoomView™, as well as others.
With environmental considerations being a key concern nowadays, the D770 series address this through a number of eco-friendly, energy-saving features that helps reduce their carbon footprint. For instance, users can easily set up a sleep timer to turn off the projector. Should they forget to do so, the projectors are engineered to turn off automatically if there is no signal input for a period of time, thus preventing energy from being wasted.
With many class sizes on the increase, a growing number of mid-sized classrooms and teaching areas need a screen size of at least 100 inch in order for students to participate effectively, but cost is a key consideration in this sector. The D770 series addresses this with a long-life, energy saving options and low total cost of ownership (TCO), thanks to it offering up to 12,000 hours of lamp operation time. The low TCO coupled with attractive price points and five-year warranties make the D770 series tailored to needs of any education institution. Commenting on the introduction of the D770 series of ultra short throw projectors, Holger Graeff, General Manager, Vivitek EMEA, stated: “As class sizes get bigger, it’s imperative that all students can easily see content being projected, wherever they are in the room. At the same time, many education institutions have to invest wisely and think about the long term when spending any of their budget. The D770 series ultra short throw projectors meet their learning, AV and long term needs, while being gentler on their budget than other AV solutions.”
Pricing and Availability
The DW770UST and DW771UST will be available end of June at a list price of Euro 950 and Euro 1130 excluding VAT respectively. Both models will enjoy the 5-year education warranty.
